Q: What exactly is the CLS1450c?
A: It is a 1-watt UHF business walkie-talkie with built in 2.4 GHz digital cordless telephone. The UHF walkie-talkie portion can talk to any other UHF walkie-talkies set to the same frequency and code. The cordless phone communicates through its base unit that plugs directly into a phone line or phone system analog extension port.

Q: Can I use the CLS1450c with my existing business phone system?
A: Yes, If your phone system can support analog extension ports. This may require installation of additional phone equipment and/or programming of the phone system. Your phone system vendor is your best resource for this information.

Q: How many telephone lines can I access?
A: If connected to a business phone system (PBX) that supports “analog extensions”, the CLS1450c can access multiple lines and other system features such as paging, intercom, etc. System features are limited only by the phone systems capability. If connected directly to a phone company CO line, it handles one line.

Q: Can I use more than one CLS1450c handset with the cordless base unit? A: Yes, up to FOUR CLS1450c handsets may be used with ONE cordless phone base unit. However, each base can handle only one phone call at a time.

Q: Why the range difference between walkie-talkie and cordless phone functions? A: There are two completely different technologies built into the CLS1450c. The FCC has specific frequencies for business users with higher power output and greater range. Cordless phones use special low power frequencies. Consequently, cordless range will always be less than walkie-talkie range.

Q: What can be done to maximize CLS1450c cordless range?
A: Place the base in a central location to handset users, positioned as high as possible maintaining as much of a line-of-sight as possible. Objects, metal, walls, floors and distance affect range. In large unobstructed areas (indoors or out) the cordless range can reach up to 100,000 sq. ft. or more.
